Promotion To Key Business Segment For ANZ Manager

, one of Australia's "Big Four" banks, has promoted one of its managers to lead its small business banking arm, a segment that puts the firm in touch with high net worth entrepreneurs of the future. Kate Gibson has been named general manager for small business banking to commence on 24 March 2014, based in Melbourne. Gibson is a senior executive with a wide experience in financial serices, telecommunications, healthcare and government services in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Brazil. Prior to the appointment, she served as general manager for Greater Melbourne for ANZ's branch network. She reports to Mark Whelan, the managing director of corporate and commercial banking. As part of this announcement, Tania Motton, ANZ general manager for regional business banking, has been given the additional responsibility for corporate and commercial banking in South Australia -- a role she has held in an acting capacity since November 2013. ANZ is now under new leadership. As at February this year, David Gonski has served as the bank's new chairman. Gonski, the former managing director and chairman of Future Fund, succeeded John Morschel as managing director. He will assume the chairman post in May 2014.
